Simon Brady, CFP®

CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ and founder and principal of Anglia Advisors, a New York Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) and independent fee-only financial planning firm based in midtown Manhattan, specializing in the personal financial planning needs of foreign nationals living and working in the US. Originally from London, I am UK/US dual national.

I give presentations at which I identify the financial, fiscal and legal landscape for non-citizens in the US, who among them are considered resident aliens and who are not (clue: there’s a lot more to it than whether they carry a green card or not), what significant effects this distinction can have, what traps can be fallen into and what the (sometimes draconian) penalties can be for non-compliance with foreign account reporting obligations, how pre-planning can help mitigate certain risks, etc. etc.

These presentations would be suitable for, among others:

  • – Immigration professionals wishing to educate their clients and/or themselves on these issues.
  • – Anyone considering coming to work in the US, a change of immigration status in the US or considering an imminent permanent return from the US to their home country.
  • – Financial professionals looking to expand their general knowledge base in this area, which is generally not taught in most certification programs, in order to better serve their clients.
  • – Human Resource departments of companies with a high number of foreign national employees or who are considering bringing in staff from overseas.
  • – International cultural or trade associations who wish to inform and educate their members.
  • – Any groups of individual non-citizens (or those with non-citizen spouses) who would like a private presentation.
